Substructure effects on the collapse of density perturbations

چکیده
We solve numerically the equations of motion for the collapse of a shell of baryonic matter, made of galaxies and substructure of 10M⊙−10M⊙, falling into the central regions of a cluster of galaxies taking account of dynamical friction. We calculate the evolution of the expansion parameter, a(t), of the perturbation using a coefficient of dynamical friction, η0, calculated for a perturbation in which clustering is absent and a coefficient ηcl obtained from a clustered one. The effect of the dynamical friction is to slow down the collapse (V. AntonuccioDelogu & S. Colafrancesco 1994, hereafter AC) producing an observable variation of the parameter of expansion of the shell. The effect increases with increasing η and with the increasing of clustering. Finally, we show how the collapse time depends on η0 and ηcl.

The dynamical evolution of fractal star clusters: the survival of substructure
We simulate the dynamics of fractal star clusters, in order to investigate the evolution of substructure in recently formed clusters. The velocity dispersion is found to be the key parameter determining the survival of substructure. In clusters with a low initial velocity dispersion, the ensuing collapse of the cluster tends to erase substructure, although some substructure may persist beyond t...
متن کاملInvestigation of the effects of geomagnetic storms on ionospheric irregularities using the combination of ground-based GNSS and SWARM satellites
Geomagnetic storms are one of the main causes of ionospheric perturbations in different sizes, depending on their intensity, which could disturb radio signals passing through this medium. On September 6-12, 2017, the sudden storm commencement (SSC) was the most massive geomagnetic storm of the year due to the X9 solar flare caused by a coronal mass ejection (CME). IMF-Bz and Dst values increase...
متن کاملStatistics of Magnification Perturbations by Substructure in the Cold Dark Matter Cosmological Model
We study the statistical properties of magnification perturbations by substructures in strong lensed systems using linear perturbation theory and an analytical substructure model including tidal truncation and a continuous substructure mass spectrum. We demonstrate that magnification perturbations are dominated by perturbers found within roughly a tidal radius of an image, and that sizable magn...
متن کاملAxial Crushing Analysis of Sandwich Thin-walled Tubes using Experimental and Finite Element Simulation
Application of impact energy absorption systems in different industries is of special significance. Thin-walled tubes, due to their lightness, high energy absorption capacity, long crushing length and the high ratio of energy absorption to weight, have found ever-increasing application as one of the most effective energy absorption systems. In this research, through carrying out experimental t...
متن کاملLarge Scale Baryon Isocurvature Inhomogeneities
Big bang nucleosynthesis constraints on baryon isocurvature perturbations are determined. A simple model ignoring the effects of the scale of the perturbations is first reviewed. This model is then extended to test the claim that large amplitude perturbations will collapse, forming compact objects and preventing their baryons from contributing to the observed baryon density. It is found that ba...
